Description:

A Quality Technician facilitates the monitoring and improvement of internal (manufacturing) product and process quality for the Las Vegas Traction Motor Combo Repair facility. Quality Technicians will constantly review product for missed defects and facilitate corrective and preventive action when defects are found. Quality Technicians will also perform processes to Qualify/Audit Manufacturing Technicians. Quality Technicians will be required to present audit findings or improvement plans for their area of ownership.

Responsibilities:

Calibrated tooling - This position will be responsible for maintaining, managing and tracking calibrated tooling.
NCMR Communication – Help develop improved NCMR communication process for reduction of rework delay.
Validate work and coach peers on quality critical items.
Inspection of finished goods and in-process product auditing.
Document missed operations (quality defects) for corrective action purposes (DMR’s)
Perform Manufacturing Technician Qualification reviews and complete Qualification documentation- audit Manufacturing Technicians for compliance to procedures.
Records administration.
Quality Alert inspection.
Assistance on Level-One and Derail Inspections.

Qualifications:

Knowledge/experience of Motor and Wheel Line Processes.

Working knowledge of use of inspection measurement equipment.
Must have experience with MS Office.

Ability to work unsupervised.
Creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.
Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed.
Familiarity with inspection process.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Exhibits strong quality compliance behavior.

Physical Demands:

Employee is required to stand for majority of daily work, with minimal breaks.
Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.
Employee is regularly required to see and observe small handwriting, labels, and components.
Requires daily face-to-face interaction with employees on production line.
