Responsibilities
James F. Butler & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Insurance companies, is seeking a Legal Secretary to join the Westchester, NY office. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to supporting two Attorneys with requesting and bookmarking medical records, discovery follow-up, e-filing, and drafting pleadings/motions. The most qualified candidates will have the ability to communicate effectively, work independently, and prioritize workload in a fast paced and time sensitive environment.
This is a hybrid position working Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The selected candidate should plan to spend time working both in the Westchester office and from home (if desired) as part of a hybrid work arrangement. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs.
Based in Jericho, NY, with our satellite office in Westchester (Harrison, NY), we enjoy an active and busy civil trial practice. We provide a congenial, team-oriented, and professional work environment with skilled support staff.

Qualifications
- Minimum 2-5 years of civil litigation experience preferably in insurance defense or personal injury environment
- Experience with medical record requests and discovery process
- Experience with New York E-filing procedures
- Experience drafting simple motions/pleadings
- Strong technical agility including proficiency in software technology and tools such as Microsoft Suite, Adobe Professional, and case management software
- Potential salary range: $64,857.81-$70,000
- Potential yearly incentive pay up to 6% of the base salary (results may vary year to year)
