The Opportunity

This is a 12-week internship with start dates beginning in May through August 2025, depending on your availability. Nutanix offers both remote and hybrid internships where you would work from the San Jose, CA, office 2-3 days/week. Submit your application by October 4, 2024.

The NCM Ops team at Nutanix is solving some of the most challenging problems in the field of Hybrid Cloud and DataCenter management using Distributed Systems, Machine Learning , cutting edge monitoring infrastructure and Intelligent Automation Platforms. Your Role

• Architect, design, and development software for the Nutanix Cloud Management Intelligent Ops product.
• Develop a deep understanding of complex distributed systems and design innovative solutions for customer requirements
• Work alongside development, test, documentation, and product teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast pace environment
• Deliver on an internship project over the course of the program. Present the final product to engineering leadership.

What You Will Bring

• You are pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science or a related field.
• Knowledge of or experience with Hadoop, MapReduce, Cassandra, Zookeeper, or other large scale distributed systems preferred
• Interest or experience working with virtualization technologies from VMware, Microsoft (Hyper-V), or Redhat (KVM) preferred
• You are proficient in one or more of the following backend programming languages: C, C++, Python, Java, and Golang.
• Exposure to or projects related to one or more of the following systems: Cloud Infrastructure, Database Systems, File Systems, Object Storage Systems, Distributed Storage, or Open Source Frameworks

  • Students attending the second round should expect multiple interviews with Nutanix engineers designed to assess your technical skills and role readiness, motivation for the opportunity at Nutanix, and, when required, a pre-assignment aligned to the role you'll be playing on our team. Each meeting will offer you an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the team you'll potentially work with.
