Under the supervision of the Director of Graduate Admissions and in collaboration with the faculty leadership of the S@E program, the residential Communication Disorders (CD) program, and the Graduate Program Director (GPD) for Journalism and Media Innovation, the Associate Director plays a key role in recruiting prospective students, advising faculty and candidates throughout the admissions process, and supporting the overall enrollment strategy for the College’s graduate programs. This position also serves as a central point of coordination and communication between admissions and academic leadership to ensure alignment with institutional goals and program needs.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Uphold admission policies and best practices, ensuring a fair and equitable admissions process.
- Revise admissions-related website content for accuracy and relevance in collaboration with Graduate Admissions senior leadership and the programs’ GPDs.
- Provide guidance to faculty, affiliated faculty, and staff readers by overseeing holistic application review, hosting calibration meetings, and maintaining up-to-date training materials.
- Identify, recruit, and train admissions readers for the S@E and JMI programs, ensuring consistency with holistic review best practices.
- Create and manage the enrollment pipeline and application timeline for residential programs from inquiry through first enrollment; regularly participate in recruitment events, webinars, and information sessions.
- Collaborate with program leadership and Graduate Admissions to forecast enrollment, plan strategically, and ensure alignment with institutional goals.
- Collect and analyze admissions data to support ongoing improvements and enhance the effectiveness of the admissions process.
- Research, recommend, and implement creative strategies to support the programs’ diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
- Stay current on admissions practices and trends through professional development (e.g., NAGAP, AACRAO).
- Partner with the S@E and residential GPDs and the Director of Graduate Admission to establish, periodically revise, and align admissions practices and rubrics with best practices, accreditation requirements (e.g., ASHA), and institutional priorities.
- Ensure timely application review and compliance with turnaround timelines for S@E and other graduate programs.
- Participate in department meetings, cohort debriefs, quarterly program meetings, and strategic planning sessions for S@E, JMI, and related graduate programs.
- Serve as the liaison between Graduate Admissions, the S@E GPD, and external partner 2U for daily admissions operations.
- Collaborate with 2U to ensure accurate, complete, and timely application data and reports, as well as audit communications and events for accuracy and brand alignment.

QUALIFICATIONS – Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to perform the job effectively.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
- 7–10 years of experience in higher education admissions or enrollment management is required; graduate admissions experience is preferred.
- Experience collaborating with faculty and/or academic departments and working with third-party admissions providers.
- Proven ability to deliver professional presentations virtually and in person and to engage effectively with prospective students and applicants.
- Strong knowledge of graduate admissions best practices; familiarity with international academic documentation and the field of speech-language pathology/speech disorders preferred.
- Experience with a variety of CRMs, including but not limited to Salesforce, Slate, and Banner.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Experience managing and training admissions readers, as well as overseeing staff and projects, preferred.
