Job Description:
- Our site is a reverse logistics hub for decommissioning our client data center equipment.
- We process parts that are retired as well as those removed during repair.
- During our intake process, parts are inspected and evaluated and then sent to our on-site laboratory, where they are function tested, and may undergo basic repairs.
- Then, depending on the test results, parts are sent to the highest-value recovery path.
- This could include re-using it as a spare part, integrating it into new equipment, or if there's no internal demand, we may liquidate or recycle it. It is a transactional role, but with a focus on quality over quantity.
Job Responsibilities:
- As a Data Center Technician, you are a primary resolver for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving most complex hardware infrastructure issues.
- You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and are able to effectively passdown knowledge of these technologies to junior staff.
- You have basic to intermediate system administration skills and, where applicable, are able to take on remote system administration tasks working in a virtual team.
- You have the ability to automate tasks with scripts when necessary.
- You work autonomously to resolve most support issues.
- You are able to execute small projects on your own, and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects.
- You act as the initial escalation point for junior technicians.
- You understand all aspects of the equipment you support.
- You know how to innovate and make decisions on his/her own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved.
Top 3 must-have hard skills:
- IT Support Experience with computer hardware components.
- MS Office experience
- Manufacturing environment
