Resp & Qualifications

CareFirst runs a year-round internship program.  The ideal candidate is someone who can work throughout the year up to 15-20 hours in the Fall AND Spring AND full time in the Summer. This student will join the internship program upon hire during the Winter/Spring cohort starting in January 2025.

The intern is an integral member of the Market Insights & Data Analytics Team, located in the CareFirst Strategy & Emerging Business division in Washington, DC, Virginia or Maryland region.  This position may include the following duties: 

  • Analyze survey data using Excel or SPSS
  • Program & disseminate surveys in our self-service Qualtrics platform
  • Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans and synthesize findings
  • Create PowerPoint presentations that include compelling insights via story telling techniques and data-visualizations
  • Project manage research initiatives which include meetings and attendance at other workgroup meetings

As we learn your strengths and get to know you better, expect increased responsibility and visibility into our departments projects and those across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Majors: Marketing, Business or Social Sciences; Strong research skills and have a desire/interest in healthcare.
  • Must be a student enrolled in an accredited college or university at the Junior/Senior level or a Graduate student in a Masters program. 
  • GPA 3.25 or above.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Must have strong attention to detail, with ability to successfully manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and the Internet.

Salary Range: $18,720 - $26,000

The hire range posted is an annual rate. All intern positions will be paid hourly.
