Full Job Description
Summary
Supervises the activities of highly skilled bargaining unit employees engaged in inspection of tools and gages, writing of calibration procedures, and calibration, maintenance, fabrication, and repair of equipment, including but not limited to reference standards, transfer standards, standard gages, capital equipment, and measuring instruments.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises the activities of employees by providing work assignments, performance expectations and feedback on a regular basis.Assures that quality work is performed in an efficient manner.Performs other administrative duties required for normal functions of the group and management of workload and resources to support engineering projects.
- Ensures conformance to terms of the collective bargaining agreement where applicable.
- Assures the calibration laboratory facilities are maintained and upgraded or altered when required and that all quality policies and standards are met.
- Maintains a business relationship with vendors, suppliers, and other outside customer sources, as well as all engineering and internal customers requesting services or support.
- Identifies equipment needs and prepares budget forecasts.
- Manages the fabrication, prove-in, calibration, maintenance, and modification of electronic acceptance test equipment, including calibration and maintenance of reference standards, transfer standards, capital equipment, standard gages and inspections of special design tools.
- Prepares metric data/reports for management reviews and recommends improvement of processes which affect the cycle time and quality of operations.
- May require cognizance of the latest development in related technologies.
- Directly supervises employees and performs other managerial responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
You Must Have
- 2+ years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree or certification or 2 additional years of experience
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
- United States Citizenship
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
We Value
- Expertise in the mechanical, electronic, electro-mechanical, metrology, test, and/or calibration fields.
- Established and working knowledge of current FM&T Calibration Services or Test Equipment Fabrication processes.
- Understanding of Calibration Management System.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft ERP/MRP applications.
- Familiarity with principles of the Honeywell Operating System (HOS).
- Experience interacting with union employees and representatives.
- Evidence of ability to coach, mentor, develop and discipline people.
