Microsoft Systems Administrator

Experienced Microsoft Systems Administrator
3-5 years of directly related experience
Security + required and at least one or more of the following :
Microsoft 365 Certified Administrator
Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator
Microsoft Certified Windows Server Administrator
Required Experience with VMware vSphere and vCenter and virtualization (current certification is a plus)
Experience migrating Migrate servers from Server 2016 to 2022 and migrate some server systems to cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.
Required Experience with on-premises and cloud-based Microsoft products such as Azure, Server 2019, Windows 10 & 11, InTune Endpoint Manager, etc.
Data center experience is a plus
Federal government experience is mandatory
Familiarity with FISMA, CIS Benchmarks, DISA STIGS is a plus
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Required AS/BS/BA in Information Systems/Computer Science/related field or 3 years minimum relevant professional and technical experience.
DUTIES:
As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the secure and efficient operation of physical and virtual Windows servers and systems in a variety of environments including on-premises and within the cloud.
You will be supporting the successful implantation, operations and management of Microsoft products within our Federal Government Customer's environment. Your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Managing and maintaining Windows servers and systems, including Server 2016, Server 2019, Windows Server 2022, Windows 10 & 11 and other Microsoft products.
Create, configure and maintain virtual environments containing Windows servers and other applications using VMware vSphere and vCenter.
Migrate servers from Server 2016 to 2022 and migrate some server systems to cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.
Ensuring the security of Windows servers and systems by implementing security patches, secure configuration settings, endpoint detection and response, and anti-malware solutions.
Maintain identity and access management using Active Directory both on-premise and in Azure with full synchronization and multifactor authentication.
Implement and maintain PKI for individual and endpoint encryption and authentication.
Provide backup and recovery services and manage file systems and disk space on a routine basis using Veeam.
Make recommendations for the purchase of hardware, software, system components.
Maintaining equipment within a datacenter environment.
Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with vendors; evaluate vendor products, services, and suggestions.
Create system admin guides and runbooks.
Adheres to organizational processes and procedures.
Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.
Maintain security audit and logging information on all networked and standalone systems.
Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts
Work under minimal direction and independently determine and develop approach to solutions.
Collaborating with other IT professionals, including network administrators, developers, security engineers and help desk staff, to ensure seamless operation of the IT infrastructure.
