The Town of Wellesley is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our IT team and help enhance the Town’s network infrastructure. This position is responsible for building, deploying, patching, and upgrading physical and virtual Windows servers, as well as managing cloud services provided by third-party platforms. The Systems Administrator will also contribute to strategic planning and system improvements, supporting over 300 end-users across the Town network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, deploy, patch, and upgrade physical/virtual Windows servers and administer third-party cloud platforms.
- Manage and enhance Microsoft Office 365 services (OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams).
- Consult with users to meet business needs and develop efficient systems architecture.
- Support security, backups, user account management, and system maintenance.
- Assist with the maintenance of VoIP, remote meeting technologies, and wireless networks.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure smooth operations, including occasional after-hours work and travel within Town.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in systems administration for organizations with 50+ users.
- Expertise in Windows Server (2019 or later), Office 365, networking protocols, and server virtualization.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Must pass a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with alternative desktop/mobile operating systems (MacOS, iOS, Android).
- Experience with SAN storage environments.
Salary:
- The full hiring range for this position is $70,425 – $106,745 DOQ.
