Position Overview: We're hiring a System Administrator supporting Space Systems to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. In this role, you will work within a cross-functional team to provide hands-on experience designing, installing, configuring, monitoring and maintaining enterprise ground systems. The System Administrator must have a team-oriented and customer-focused attitude due to multiple locations and various end users. You'll have an immediate effect on the warfighting efforts of our nation to maintain U.S. space dominance.
Work Location: Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO - approximately 10% travel
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the organization's servers, desktop and mobile equipment
- Ensure that email and data storage networks work properly
- Ensure that employees' workstations are working efficiently and stay connected to the central computer network
- Manage telecommunication networks
- Assist network architects to design and analyze network models
- Participate in decisions about buying future hardware or software to upgrade the organization's network
Requirements
- Must be compliant with DoD 8140.03 Foundational and Residential Qualifications (Security+ to start, environment certification within 3 months of start)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or other related field and a minimum of five (5) years' experience. Four years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring and maintaining ESXi hosts
- Experience configuring and maintaining Vsphere/VMware solutions
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience (multiple versions)
- Proven hardware/software troubleshooting experience
- Experience installing and configuring Windows Server (multiple versions)
- Experience using Powershell and Bash
- Experience implementing automation
- Data flow management experience
- Hardware integration experience
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Willingness to learn tools and processes
- Experience with TrueNAS
- Experience with Solarwinds
- Basic routing and switching experience
- Any MUS (Mission Unique Software) experience
- Experience with Linux in a secured environment
- Experience with virtualization products
- Familiarity with Cisco and Juniper routers and switches
Security Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (must be eligible for SCI indoctrination within first 3 months of start date) and be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI
- Must be a US Citizen
Pay and Benefits:
- Pay range: $95-108K / year
