Sustaining R&D Engineer 2Job Description
As a Sustaining R&D Engineer, you are supporting a cross-functional team responsible for configuration management of all Colorado Springs-produced products.
Your role:
- Scoping alignment with the team to make and address labeling changes related to EU MDR requirements.
- Initiating phase change requests and closures within the Windchill PLM (product lifecycle management) system, as well as initiating and approving change tasks.
- Working with cross-functional R&D teams to ensure label proposals are cohesive and meet regulatory requirements, prior to gaining label proofing approvals.
- Creating and/or modifying existing drawings for final packaging and submitting for approvals.
- Maintaining, generating, and updating design documents within Windchill PLM to ensure the bill of materials (BOM) are created and associated with the correct trade items.
You're the right fit if:
- You’ve acquired 2+ years of experience in Research & Development within the medical device industry (preferred) or a highly regulated environment. Knowledge of engineering processes – a plus.
- Your skills include experience with product configuration management and/or change management.
- You have a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline.
- You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
- You’re a strong communicator, both written and verbal, you have strong documentation skills and have the ability to work with cross functional teams.

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details
The pay range for this position in Colorado Springs, CO is $66,500.00 - 114,000.00.
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
