Sr. Supply Chain Manager

Work Mode:Onsite

Location:Onsite at Kohler, WI

Opportunity

Responsible for the materials management function relating to the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products to meet company objectives and customer requirements. This involves the responsibility of directing and administering Purchasing, Production Planning, Inventory Control, Cycle Counting program and Shipping/Receiving and Warehousing


Specific Responsibilities

  • Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges.
  • Work in conjunction with the Accounting Department to establish procedures and supervise the annual physical inventory. This includes the taking and valuing of the year-end physical inventory.
  • Responsible for improving plant material flow of Raw, WIP and finished goods.
  • Oversees and ensures proper production control planning and scheduling programs to meet sales forecasts and to balance the level of manpower and machine requirements. Makes certain that deviations to the production schedule are investigated and properly followed up.
  • Ensures proper contact with internal and external customers relating to releases and deliveries.
  • Works in conjunction with Kohler Purchasing to oversee the purchasing and/or contracting for materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the operation of the company, in addition to all inventory items. Confers with requesting parties when specific sources are requested. Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages, however caused.
  • Establishes and maintains purchasing practices and policies to ensure honest, fair, and ethical relationships with vendors. Keeps informed on legal matters that affect purchasing policies.
  • Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery.
  • Keeps abreast of materials, markets and materials pricing trends that affect company products.
  • Develops, establishes, and provides for the maintenance of reporting systems that relate to the materials function.
  • Manages the shipping and receiving functions of the division and oversees the storage of purchased parts and finished goods.
  • Ensures shipping cost per E.U. and LOTIF objectives are met.
  • Ensures that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all Materials Department functions.
  • Responsible for the motivation and development of subordinates to optimize their performance and their personal and professional growth.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Ten years' experience with proven results in areas related to materials control, production control, inventory control, and shipping/receiving and warehousing.
  • Experience in SAP and WMS software applications preferred.

The salary range for this position is $117,000 - $149,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
