The Opportunity

This is a 12-week internship with start dates beginning in May through August 2025, depending on your availability. Nutanix offers both remote and hybrid internships where you would work from the San Jose, CA, office 2-3 days/week. Submit your application by October 4, 2024.

About the Team

The Engineering Summer Internship is an opportunity to gain exposure to one or more Nutanix engineering roles according to your skills and interests.

The Insights team works on providing a predictive health and support automation for the customer, enabling them to easily uncover gaps in health and remediate issues that arise, resulting in fewer customer-raised support cases, and faster issue remediation. The Insights team focuses on Smart support, predictive support, comprehensive data analysis, health telemetry for the end customer. As an intern, you will get the opportunity to work on a Cloud based SaaS product, gain exposure to big data, and learn about the end-to-end product development process as a full-stack developer.

Each intern is paired with a Member of Technical Staff who serves as a guide through our engineering culture, toolsets, and development methodology. Our internship program also includes a series of lunch and learns, training events, and social outings to expose you to other aspects of a rapidly growing Silicon Valley technology company. This a full time, 12 week internship program.

Your Role

• Architect, design, and development software for the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform
• Develop a deep understanding of complex Cloud based SaaS product
• Work alongside development, test, documentation, and product teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast pace environment
• Deliver on an internship project over the course of the program. Present the final product to engineering leadership.

What You Will Bring

• You are pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science or a related field.
• ove of programming and skilled in one of the following languages: ReactJS/NodeJs, and Golang. Postgres Sql for data.
• Extensive knowledge or experience with Linux or Windows
• Have taken courses or completed research in the areas of operating systems, files systems, big data, machine learning, compilers, algorithms and data structures, or cloud computing
• Detailed oriented with strong focus on code and product quality
• The passion & ability to learn new things

  • Students who advance to this round will receive preparation and details on any pre-assignments to complete prior to October 23.
  • Students attending the second round should expect multiple interviews with Nutanix engineers designed to assess your technical skills and role readiness, motivation for the opportunity at Nutanix, and, when required, a pre-assignment aligned to the role you'll be playing on our team. Each meeting will offer you an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the team you'll potentially work with.
• Final Decision: Offers extended! Finalists can expect offers by mid-November.
