Job Purpose
The Transmission Line Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing the construction of transmission lines, ensuring reliable and efficient electricity transmission while adhering to industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental considerations.
Key Accountabilities
- Perform engineering and design of large Regulatory Driven Projects such as CLCPA/Upstate Upgrade, Article VII, and multi-state interties.
- Perform engineering and design of system interconnections for new customers, wind power generation facilities, solar power generation facilities, and other green energy sources.
- Lead pilot projects of new technology such as advanced conductors and alternative structure/foundation types.
- Lead multi-value transmission engineering projects such as large scale asset refurbishments and circuit reconductoring.
- Provide field/construction engineering support to active construction jobs with real time engineering input.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Able to lead and supervise a project team or virtual teams to achieve business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required. Electrical Engineering degree with previous Transmission Line Engineering experience will be considered.
- At least 6 years experience required, professional licensure and advanced degrees considered for experience.
- Engineering certifications a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant utility industry practices, standards and legislation preferred.
- Proven experience prioritizing work and managing multiple engineering projects simultaneously within budget and time constraintspreferred.
- Commitment to safety as a core value.
- Valid driver's license required.
More Information
Salary: $ 111,000 - $130,000
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
