Offered Salary: $175,947.00/year
Duties: Provides end-to-end IT project management and technical solutions for implementing and supporting large-scale data warehouse and business intelligence (BI) solutions. Migrates applications to Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud from existing Hadoop databases using AWS Cloud Services, including AWS Transfer Family, Simple Storage Services (S3), and CloudWatch, Redshift cloud data lake, Hadoop, Hive, IBM BigIntegrate, and Unix shell scripting. Focuses on processes related to the availability, Service Level Agreement (SLA), and efficiency of core data services, batch jobs, and applications. Performs troubleshooting, and analyzes and resolves complex production issues related to data, data file delivery, performance, server, and application issues. Ensures completion of root cause analysis and eliminates repeated defects. Resolves issues related to core services systems and the buildout of automations to prevent problem recurrence. Collaborates with Business Analysts and works with client representatives to gather requirements and resolve complex data designs or transformation issues, and provides solutions that meet business requirements. Complies with, identifies, and adopts operational "best practices" and process improvements within the following functional areas: timelines/delivery schedules, audit, risk, change management, incident management, problem management, tools and application support, and data privacy and protection. Plans and supports platform upgrades and disaster recovery exercises. Develops and maintains documentation, departmental technical procedures, and user guides. This position is fully remote and reports to NY Life's office in Lebanon, NJ; candidates may work from a home office anywhere in the United States.
Education & Experience Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience analyzing, developing, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues related to data warehouse solutions and data analytics batch jobs or, alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience analyzing, developing, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues related to data warehouse solutions and data analytics batch jobs.
Required Certifications & Skills:
Experience must include 2 years in each of the following skills: performing data warehouse technical design, development, and problem resolution leveraging Big Data solutions with Big Integrate and Hadoop Ecosystems (including HDFS, Hive, and Sqoop), data manipulation using Python, and large-scale data processing using Spark; conducting enterprise data warehouse re-platforming or reengineering from legacy systems to Hadoop Distributed File Systems (HDFS) or to AWS Cloud Systems leveraging Python, Sqoop, Redshift, AWS Transfer Family, Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon CloudWatch, IBM DataStage, and IBM BigIntegrate to align with enterprise data and platform strategies; analyzing and providing end-to-end data integration solutions and identifying production issues leveraging IBM Datastage, QualityStage, and Web Information Server Console and Unix shell scripting; and, improving data retrieval and optimizing long-running extract and transform processes leveraging dimensional data modeling and SQL.

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
