Join the MathWorks Finance team as a Senior Accounting Analyst, working with a global team of professionals to support the timely, accurate and insightful preparation of monthly reporting, as well as coordination of the annual audit and internal compliance initiatives.


You'll work with a global team and will be exposed to senior management as you develop knowledge about key business issues, support new initiatives, and identify opportunities to leverage technology. Grow personally and professionally while building a network within the hi-tech industry!

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other members of the Global Finance Team to prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial results, along with insightful analysis. This includes the preparation and review of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, review of monthly consolidated results, the oversight of any unusual transactions, as well as reporting provided to help senior management understand the underlying business drivers.

  • Coordinate the annual audit. Working with the external auditors and MathWorks staff, manage timelines and deliverables. Identify opportunities to create efficiencies through technology or process changes.

  • Collaborate with the Global Finance Team to standardize and streamline recurring processes and data collection activities, establishing best practices that improve efficiency, and optimize the use of technology.

  • Support internal compliance activities related to worldwide accounting and transaction processing, pricing and other initiatives focused on standardization.

  • Assist with projects in various capacities from the execution of tasks on larger cross functional projects to project management activities on smaller projects.


Qualifications

  • Previous professional work experience in finance, preferably working with (or in) a software or cloud based company

  • Ability to understand, review and explain financial results and business drivers

  • Creative problem solving and presentation skills

  • Attention to detail

  • CPA or CA designation preferred

  • Effective communication skills to facilitate clear presentation of data, insights and recommendations

  • Proficiency with technology tools such as Power BI to streamline processes and enhance data analysis capabilities

  • Ability and willingness to iterate, collaborate and influence


Required Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or equivalent experience) is required.

  • Visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
