Scientist, In Vivo

Join our Clinical Immuno-Oncology Discovery group in the Early Oncology department in Gaithersburg, Maryland. We are seeking a highly motivated, in vivo-based scientist with a background in cancer immunology. As a key member of our team, you will support innovative bioscience research of clinically staged therapeutics of cancer. You will develop and execute murine studies to assess the function of our candidate drugs and dissect the mechanism of action of novel therapeutics targeting the immune system. This position will be primarily in vivo focused and may also include in vitro and ex vivo evaluations to dissect immune cell modulation.

Accountabilities:

You will be responsible for developing and performing murine studies, analyzing data, interpreting results independently, and maintaining appropriate documentation. You will also be expected to work well within a team and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience or Master's Degree in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Cell Biology or related field with 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • Impeccable aseptic technique, with knowledge of cell line culturing & passaging
  • Strong in vivo skills- mouse handling, tumor implantation (sq, orthotopic), drug administration (IP, SQ, IV, PO), blood collection & necropsy
  • Ability to make detailed observations, analyze data, and interpret results independently
  • Preparation of precise technical summaries, protocols, quantitative analyses, and maintenance of appropriate documentation
  • Team player who is well organized with strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to perform in vivo murine models

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience in Immuno-Oncology and knowledge of immune based assays or endpoints would be preferred
  • Experience with humanized mouse models preferred but not required.
  • Ability to independently perform multi-color flow cytometry, or have strong interest to learn
