Job Summary

The Prenatal Stress Study (PSS) is examining the impact of stress during pregnancy on maternal health, infant development, and the mother-infant relationship. 
PSS is seeking dependable and detail-oriented research assistants who have experience working with children and are available for in-person work. All research assistants need to be able to adhere to strict study protocols and be sensitive to working with vulnerable populations. This would be an ideal position for someone seeking clinical research experience and pursuing psychology, social work, public health, or medicine. We are recruiting assistants to administer a standardized brief stress task, to provide childcare to participants, and to help with study tasks. Research Assistants are paid $15/hour.

Required Qualifications*

-Must have availability for in-person tasks at least two days a week from 11am-3pm. More availability is strongly preferred, and priority will be given to applicants with flexible schedules. Two semester time commitment required.

Work Schedule

Research Assistant must have availability for in-person tasks at least two days a week from 11am-3pm. Most RAs work an average of 4-5 hours a month.

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third-party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.

In addition to the screenings indicated above under Michigan law, a criminal history check including fingerprinting is required as a condition of transfer or employment for this position.

Job openings are posted for a minimum of seven calendar days.  The review and selection process may begin as early as the eighth day after posting. This opening may be removed from posting boards and filled anytime after the minimum posting period has ended.
