The Quality and Sanitation Supervisor directs and oversees both Quality and sanitation program related functions on-site and reports to the Quality Manager. Schedules and assigns workloads, as well as provides training and technical assistance to quality, sanitation and production team members. Maintain a close partnership with production to identify, solve and prevent problems affecting quality. As a quality assurance and sanitation professional, you are involved in all aspects of quality and safety including but not limited to audits, Food Safety program evaluation, GMP training, sanitation evaluation, purchasing supplies, working with operations personnel on quality and safety issues, inspecting incoming products, customer complaints, implementing policies and procedures and evaluating new equipment installation or repair. Additionally, you will drive compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies regarding sanitation and pest control requirements and related chemical controls.
You Will:
- Coordinate quality assurance activities (e.g., audits, training, purchasing, etc.)
- Provide technical assistance and training to QA, quality and manufacturing personnel
- Monitor and verify the Food Safety Plan and CCPs following policy and procedure
- Conduct GMP and sanitation audits of operations and warehouse areas
- Work with operations personnel on quality, safety, and sanitation issues
- Verify operations control systems are functional and being followed
- Place product on hold, release or disposition as necessary while observing policy and procedure
- Coordinate resolution of customer complaints when necessary
- Complete quality documentation review per schedule
- Complete analytical reviews of product and processes
- Maintain all necessary lab certifications and cross checks
- Maintain, modify and review the plant Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) per FDA regulations, and Environmental Swabbing Program
- Develop and implement corrective action around any sanitation or pest control failures identified and maintain records of all activities
- Ensure documentation of all sanitation activities, to include sanitation trainings, Internal Audit, Post-operational inspections, verification activities, sanitation chemical titrations, daily sanitation operation sheets, and master sanitation schedule.
- Be the back-up for Plant Quality Manager in their absence
- Substitute SQF practitioner
- Other duties as assigned
- Work schedule may include nights and weekends
You Have:
- BS Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or other related degree required (Education may be substituted for years of experience)
- 3-5 years industry experience
- Leadership and/or supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety, food manufacturing processes, technologies or other relevant responsibilities
