Title: Quality Control Manager
Department: Quality Control
Reports To: Director of Quality and Compliance

Introduction Period: Up to 90 days
Wage: 70,000-80,000 per year/DOE
Position Summary:
Responsible for building and managing a Quality Control Unit that prides itself on both ensuring quality products are produced, while maintaining a cooperative relationship with our Operations team.
Responsible for working with numerous department heads to ensure compliance with all internal polices and procedures, while finding ways to increase efficiency.
This position is also responsible for working with third-party laboratories and suppliers to obtain information related to quality control.
Essential Functions:
Maintain Quality Control Records.
Develop Standard Operational Procedures for the organization.
Monitor and Evaluate Employee Training Records.
Interact with Regulatory Agencies to ensure compliance with all Local, State, and federal Regulations.
Set and implement both internal and external quality requirements.
Evaluate Lab Reports and compare the results against the specifications for the intended materials.
Oversee product development procedures.
Complete investigations into raw material or finished products that do not conform to their individual specifications.
Recommend required training for both the quality unit and production staff.
Supervise Quality Control Staff.
Communicate with multiple departments throughout the organization to ensure products are completed in a timely manner.
Assist with Document Management.
Audit Records.
Maintains a safety conscious attitude.
Maintain excellent attendance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Two years of experience working in food manufacturing or other manufacturing facilities.
Knowledge of HAACP and Food Defense Programs.
Familiarity of FDA Regulation 21 CFR Part 111.
Familiarity with State of Oregon Food Handling regulations.
Familiarity with laboratory analytical equipment.
Working understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Possess effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnel within team management environment.
Ability to negotiate with outside vendors.
Requires ability to take and follow directions, time management skills, organizational development, and improvement.
Critical thinking and analytical skills required to perform the essential job functions listed on this job description.
