Full Job Description

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world’s best private schools, where students from disadvantaged backgrounds are provided with both a home and a school where they can thrive.  Thanks to the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey, MHS is fully endowed with the resources to ensure every student has opportunities and resources to succeed. The school has prepared almost 12,000 graduates and is expanding to serve more students.

MHS is seeking a Psychology Resident for the 2025-2026 school year.  The Psychology Resident position is a one-year, non-renewable, full-time position designed to provide direct therapeutic services for children & adolescents, to complete assessments for students who present with complex psychological profiles and to co-lead group supervision for the pre-doctoral psychology interns. Furthermore, this position participates in the on-call rotation, which provides emergency psychological services to students on a 24-hr, 7-day-a-week basis year-round. As the psychological climate of the school programs evolves, incumbent provides proactive recommendations and activities to provide for ethical and appropriate psychological treatment to enhance the student’s learning, emotional well-being, and Home Life performance.

Work schedule: This is an on-site, on-year role, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.  In addition to competitive salaries, full-time employees are eligible for an excellent benefits package, including paid time off, medical, and dental insurance, and financial benefits. Salary: $64,537.00 - $86,157.00, pay is determined based on experience.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a pre-doctoral psychology internship.

  • Prior experience providing mental health and school psychological services to children and adolescents.
  • Knowledge of and experience with psychotherapy, psychological/diagnostic assessment, and professional ethics.
  • Knowledge of and experience with clinical procedures, treatment plan management, and crisis intervention.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with students from families of low income and a diverse student population.
  • Must have completed all graduate program requirements prior to the position start date to be eligible.
