Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will plan single or multiple projects that range in complexity. You will manage all aspects of the project (i.e., scope development, cost estimates and schedule, etc.) by collaborating within the engineering organization and with other cross-functional departments. You will manage all technical resources and influence team members to execute projects from conception to completion delivering success criteria and vertical start-up. You should have a solid understanding of the food processing technology employed in a USDA/frozen food production facility.
This position is critical for providing manufacturing process/packaging systems and modification expertise for our manufacturing plants to deliver our company's established plans and goals for innovation, infrastructure, and cost savings. Typical projects involve state-of-the-art frozen food assembly/freezing/packaging systems, meat and poultry cook/cool systems, sauce processing systems, vegetable processing systems, dedicated product systems, factory automation, food equipment design and fabrication, building infrastructure and utility systems, and environmental health/food safety.
Responsibilities Include:
- Travel to internal and co-manufacturer manufacturing plants, vendors, suppliers, engineering service providers, and any other sites required to successfully execute projects. Travel will involve domestic and international.
- Work with leadership within and outside the Supply Chain function
- Have external interactions with, but not limited to, equipment vendors, construction contractors, engineering services contractors, local / state / federal government agencies, and co-manufacturing organizations.
- Be a Technical Leader and an expert in Project Management and has demonstrated accomplishments and contributions to meet business needs
- Manage a range of medium to large projects
- Manage multiple project staff of up to 5 - 15 engineering professionals (may be a combination of internal and consulting engineers)
- Complete assigned projects by using workflows with Innovation, Operations and Platform Groups
- Ensure that all project planning, deliverables, reporting, and spending forecasts are managed and are delivered within cost, schedule and performance success criteria
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline or a Technology Degree
- 8+ years of experience in Food Manufacturing
- 5+ years of Project Management experience
- Frozen Food Experience
- Experience managing several $5MM + capital projects and a progression through multiple roles in the Food Manufacturing industry
- Variable travel depending on project timing, between 50% to 70% travel
- This position can be located at one of the Conagra locations: Fayetteville AR, Russellville AR, Omaha NE, Chicago IL.
