Project Engineer, Process

Work Mode:Onsite

Location:Onsite - Kohler, WI

Opportunity

A Process Engineer must be the equipment and process expert of their area. They are responsible for the development and management of both process documentation and performance tracking systems. They lead root cause analysis and drive corrective actions to completion. They are tasked with asset management, reliability improvements, and play a major role in capital projects. They are responsible for coordinating the work of supports groups and setting priorities in their area to make the most significant business impact.

Specific Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional teams to address problems and make improvements.

Work Management

  • Develop and manage process documentation (PCP, PFMEA, RCM plan, Error Proofing, Process Sheets, etc.)
  • Support standard work creation and initiate revisions as necessary
  • Contribute to the effective application of the metric Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) where appropriate and takes the lead in the analysis of the data and the effective application of improvement strategies.
  • Track critical equipment downtime, equipment repair costs, and work history within CMMS (SAP)
  • Develop and monitor performance indicators that track process reliability. Review equipment/process performance with the maintenance group.
  • Periodically review equipment maintenance records. Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations
  • Manage all process changes
  • Routinely audit processes to ensure they comply with safety and quality guidelines
  • Identify, track, analyze and control KPI's
  • Maintain a consistent floor presence of no less than 25% of the workday.

Communication

  • Participate in all meetings by taking ownership of tasks, raising concerns, reporting risks, and aligning priorities.
  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, by routinely communicating project progress, support needed, and roadblocks.
  • Process expert for problem solving support SQD&C

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify, develop, and implement improvement projects to impact SPQDC
  • Increase process efficiency (production rates, yields)
  • Actively manage assets (plan for refurbish/ upgrade/ replacement)

Skills/Requirements

  • An Engineering degree, or equivalent, and 2-3 years of operations experience is required.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, self-motivation, and strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Microsoft product suite experience is required and SAP, and CAD experience is preferred.
