The K-12 Commodity Program Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day implementation of the commodity-processing program. This role provides leadership to ensure all program deadlines are met including new school year set-up, annual audit, broker bid trainings and direct bid submissions. The K-12 Commodity Specialist shares insights to support bid pricing strategy and manages bid execution for assigned regions. This role will work closely with internal partners (Marketing, Sales, Customer Logistics, Pricing, IT, Trade Admin) as well as key industry contacts (USDA, SNA, ACDA, School Districts, Co-Op's, Distributors) to effectively manage the commodity program.
Key Responsibilities
Accountable for overseeing the completion of K-12 bids in assigned region either directly or through Land O'Lakes' broker organization
Compile and complete bid documents, implement bid pricing guidance, and assemble and submit supporting documentation within specified deadlines
Work with State Departments to optimize and transfer commodity cheese balances to ensure school districts have adequate pounds to process into finished goods
Leverage ProcessorLink to track and communicate commodity balances
Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
2 or more years of work experience - required
Prior experience with K-12 Commodity experience preferred
Proficient in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel - required
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of pricing concepts - preferred
