MINE PRODUCTION LEAD

Where will you work: Onsite at Carlsbad, NM (76 Rawhide Rd., Loving, NM 88256)

The Production Lead will plan and direct production activities and resources to support the continuous operations the mine production team. Includes all facets of production coordination including short term planning, SIC, productivity improvement, and supervision. Support the design and implementation of process improvements or capital projects as needed. Help support employee scheduling process and assist with training needs. The position is a liaison between shift operations, day operations and maintenance.

What you’ll do?

Demonstrates safety leadership and commitment by personally behaving in alignment with Mosaic’s values and safety policies.
Provide recognition for safe behavior and alternatively constructively coach employees to change behavior if there are non-compliance conditions.
Completes field visits to mining areas to ensure that safety, mining, and housekeeping standards are maintained.
Promotes safety by attending toolbox talks, monthly meetings, completing corrective actions, and completing LEGO observations and action plans.
Ensure regulatory, corporate and site safety and environmental standards are being followed by conducting safety audits, risk assessments and housekeeping tours.
Works collaboratively with other departments on site for Carlsbad to ‘Win Together’.
Oversee mid-term and short-term planning of production and development operations.
People Management: Provide work direction to the dispatch team as well as timely and constructive feedback to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their work, roles, business goals and performance standards. Manage performance issues when necessary. Develop and coach employees to retain and grow organizational talent. Support employees in their career development at Mosaic.
Work with operations and maintenance to develop and implement process improvements that increase production, safety, and reliability. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering personnel in order to provide timely response to planning directives. Enable implementation or incorporation of maintenance and engineering processes into production operations.

What you’ll need:

High school diploma/GED with 5+ years of underground experience preferred.
2+ years of previous underground experience in a people leadership position preferred.
SAP, Fieldglass, Microsoft Office suite experience preferred.
Strong safety leadership and field presence.
Must be able to communicate effectively and demonstrate integrity.
Strong motivational, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and understand the interrelations within an industrial facility.
Process improvement skills preferred.

Manage performance issues when necessary.
