Full Job Description
The Tulsa World, a Lee Enterprises company, is seeking a nightshift Press Operator. The Press Operator sets up the press to produce products based on individual specifications for that shift's product; operates and maintains the press components and controls; quickly grasps a thorough understanding of every component in the press and demonstrates a strong ability to troubleshoot problems; handles the pressure of a deadline-driven environment well; maintains a strong commitment to quality and process improvement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Read and interpret layouts
- Set black and color inks to assigned density standards
- Monitor quality and make adjustments to maintain the highest possible quality
- Maintain and adjust margins, cut-off alignment, registration of four color pages and check pages against the quality proofs to maintain the highest quality possible
- Inspect rolls of newsprint rolls for damage, load rolls into the press for production and adjust arms and controls setting in accordance with the layout and production demands
- Place and install plates on the press with accordance of the press layout.
- Keep the press and the pressroom clean
- On-site, regular and reliable attendance is required.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to follow all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to attendance standards
- Ability to communicate effectively with other workers and supervisor
- Ability to work with other workers, supervisor and other departments
