JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director, Cycle Count & DRP, this role is responsible for planning and maintaining the flow and inventory levels of materials to support all production areas, while minimizing the inventory investment. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete ownership of supply chain for all inbound material, freight tracking, deviations, interfacing with Engineering, Purchasing and cross functional teams to avoid shortages and seek solutions to potential shortages
  • Monitors scheduled deliveries and communicates directly with suppliers to ensure parts are delivered on time, which could require expedited freight and tracking to avoid supply disruptions
  • Manages purchased parts inventory to reduce on-hand value, increase inventory turns, and prevent shortages
  • Schedules/plans material deliveries through MRP system and provide Supplier training in use of Parts123 portal
  • Responsible for maintaining clean unit targets for both body and chassis lines for assigned parts
  • Assumes special assignments as directed by the Planning Team Leader or Director including backup support for team members as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of MRP or equivalent material planning system
  • Working knowledge of Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels within the company as well as with outside vendors
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Graduate; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2-4 years’ experience in material planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related position
