Suffolk University's Performing Arts Office seeks experienced comedy coachto supportWho's Askin'?, a student lead sketch comedy group. The advisor will provide artistic and functional direction, and foster student leadership. Responsible for supporting and teaching a diverse group of student comedians in writing, editing, directing, and performing sketch comedy. The advisor will provide support and guidance to this energetic student group in auditions, running rehearsals, performance technique, show production, etc.
Requirements:
Experience in teaching and writing sketch comedy and working with student comedians from a variety of backgrounds is required.
The Performing Arts Office is a co-curricular program that supports student involvement and leadership through the arts serving the Suffolk's downtown Boston campus. We advise and coach student performing arts groups and produce campus arts events.
Time commitment is approximately 5 hours per week during the fall and spring academic semesters, including attending rehearsals, performances, and outside of rehearsal meetings and consultations with student leaders.
