Michigan Medicine Ambulatory Care facility at the Saline Health Center is dedicated to providing high quality health care services for adults and children. We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, self-driven, patient and team-oriented Patient Services Assistant/Associate who will share in the goal of creating the ideal experience for our patients, families and employees.

Responsibilities*
- Provide excellent customer service and support to the Saline Health Center patients, families, providers and team members.
- Administrative duties as assigned.
- Manage pre-arrival functions to assure all necessary information has been obtained for clinic visits, perform check in/out duties, provide patients with appropriate paperwork, collect co-pays, make outbound telephone calls, schedule and reschedule patient appointments.
Required Qualifications*
- High school diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of education.
- Demonstrated customer service excellence
- Welcoming and approachable demeanor with a consistently positive and professional attitude.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
- Demonstrated active listening, verbal, written and information technology communication skills
- Must be very comfortable working with computers and have a general knowledge of office practices
- Demonstrated excellent attendance and reliability
- Requires flexibility in all aspects of work assignments
Assistant Level: Requires 0-2 years of experience. High School Diploma or GED.
Associate Level: Requires 2-3 years of experience. High School Diploma or GED.
Desired Qualifications*
- Experience working in a patient care setting and within a large, complex, outpatient healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Experience with Michigan Medicine?s electronic medical record system.
Work Schedule
This position is 40 hours/week with variable hours Monday - Friday with Saturday rotation.

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
