The Department of Pathology at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UHCMC) and Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine is seeking an academic pathologist with expertise in Medical Renal Pathology. Applicants should be board-certified in AP or AP/CP with fellowship training in Medical Renal Pathology (or equivalent experience) and qualified for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Ohio. Both recent graduates and more experienced pathologists are encouraged to apply. Opportunities exist to participate in other subspecialty services if desired.
The successful candidate will join our team of sub-specialty pathologists including one current medical renal pathologist. UHCMC receives approximately 100,000 surgical specimens and over 700 medical renal pathology cases annually. The medical renal pathologist will work in close collaboration with the clinical specialists in the UH Transplant Institute, UHCMC Division of Nephrology, and Rainbow Babies and Children’s Division of Pediatric Nephology. They will additionally participate in the education of residents, fellows and medical students in both the Department of Pathology and our collaborating clinical services. Involvement in clinical, translational or basic research is encouraged including numerous opportunities to participate in established collaborative translational research projects.
The 1000+ bed UHCMC campus includes University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center, University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and University Hospitals MacDonald Women’s Hospital, all situated adjacent to CWRU.
