Job Description
The Manager, Vendor Contracts and Management serves as the central point of contact responsible for enterprise-wide vendor contracts and management activities, including ownership of related business processes, development of reporting capabilities and serving as a key resource to management. This role is located at the Company’s headquarters in Hartford, CT.
Job Responsibilities
- Overall
- Ownership and maintenance of enterprise-wide vendor contracts and management business processes including maintaining data quality in the centralized application
- Assist in the design and implementation of the Workday Strategic Sourcing module to replace the current legacy application
- Collect and analyze vendor data and provide regular reports to Senior Management that identify vendor trends and areas for improvement
- Working knowledge of various Company policies including service provider management, expense authorization, and non-public information including how these policies impact contract and vendor management processes
- Vendor Contracts
- Responsible for vendor contract workflows and maintenance of vendor contract repository to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Work collaboratively with internal procurement resources to understand spend needs to maximize value across the enterprise
- Manage contract renewals and terminations to ensure Company’s vendor relationships are managed effectively, including supporting contract negotiation strategies to achieve highest value
- Monitor compliance with contract terms and conditions
- Provide initial budget information to the Financial Planning & Analysis team based on contractual obligations
- Vendor Management
- Responsible for adherence to, and updating, as appropriate the company’s vendor management policies, processes, and procedures, including initial and on-going due diligence requirements across the enterprise
- Work closely with Risk Management team to identify critical and core vendors that require on-going due diligence and establish regular monitoring and reporting mechanisms
- Partner with Legal, IT, Cybersecurity, Operations, Finance and HR to ensure functional area vendor on-boarding and periodic diligence requirements are fulfilled in an efficient manager
- Maintain knowledge of new and existing vendor products, emerging trends, and an understanding of how vendor’s products are used across the firm
- Analyze spend categories and work closely with business to perform vendor rationalization and cost savings analysis on a regular basis
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 to 10 years of experience related vendors within the asset management/financial services industry sector
- Excellent contract management and negotiation skills
- Creative problem solver with strong analytical skills
- Broad knowledge of key spend categories in financial services firm including, technology software, hardware, infrastructure, financial business applications, telecommunications, facilities and IT Services
- Ability to build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and external partners
- Self-starter able to contribute to a dynamic and changing work environment
- Organized and results oriented work with a sense of urgency
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and good team player
- Ability to adhere to the Company’s workplace policies, including the current hybrid work schedule that requires 3 days in the office per week
The beginning salary range of $105,000 to $130,000.
The starting salary offer will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan.
