Serve as an internal project leader by conducting research and analysis and formulating recommendations for strategic company opportunities. Develop, interpret, and analyze business strategies; evaluate a variety of mergers and acquisition (M&A) opportunities, including development and presentation of models, due diligence findings, business plans, and/or conclusions; leverage project management skills to help drive M&A projects from initial evaluation through diligence/contract negotiations through closing; assist key stakeholders and business units in the development of growth strategies; conduct analysis of adjacent market opportunities, formulate recommendations through research and fact-finding.
Description
- Evaluate business acquisitions for strategic fit, market attractiveness, potential synergies and value creation, playing a key role in moving acquisitions from initial evaluation through closing.
- Create investment thesis to evaluate the attractiveness of potential acquisition targets, including development of detailed assumptions on how the business will perform under URI ownership and critical assumptions for valuation of the business.
- Create financial model to project the financial returns of potential acquisitions taking into account operational plans.
- Review key deal structuring terms associated with a transaction to ensure consistency with URI standards and practices
- Communicate directly with external parties during the diligence process, deal term negotiation, and closing process
- Facilitate and drive project execution by directing cross-functional teams through milestones while enabling key problem solving
- Conduct research to identify, prioritize and evaluate the most attractive growth opportunities for UR
- Analyze market data, competitive landscape, returns on capital, drivers of industry demand, and current UR market presence
- Present analysis, project plans and recommendations to senior management
- Become an integral contributor to the company's strategic projects. Role within team will include development of strategic frameworks, analysis of data, and presentation preparation.
- Work with business partners in field management to frame and analyze key strategic issues
- Prepare materials to be presented to both senior and field management
- Potential projects in market assessments, adjacencies to consider and organic Go-to-Market strategy.
Education
- Bachelor's degree required.
- MBA or CFA strongly preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 4-6 years' experience required, with 4+ years' experience in finance, accounting, banking or consulting
- Corporate business development experience strongly preferred
Other Skills Required
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, as well as written, presentation and oral communication skills
- Superior analytical and financial analysis skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office: (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
- Ability to effectively handle multiple assignments/project components simultaneously
- Ability to work independently, as well as be part of a team
