About the Role

Canon USA in Melville, NY is currently seeking a Logistics Specialist (Specialist, Logistics). The Logistics Specialist is responsible for organizing and handling a variety of logistics issues, ensuring third-party distribution center performance standards are met, and work on the development of logistics plans and procedures. This role involves exercising judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions related to logistics systems and projects.

This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday, Wednesday and Friday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.

Your Impact

Ensure third party managed distribution center operations comply with Canon USA Standards and meet their contractual obligations. Continually evaluate third party performance
Troubleshoot time sensitive Canon USA logistics systems (WMS) issues to ensure stable distribution center operations
Works on special projects as required (e.g. Warehouse Management System/ Transportation Management System uplifts or implementations, major customer installations, warehouse consolidations/moves, startup operations, inventory cleanup projects - Physical or System related)
Initiate and Create process improvements - Work with Logistics managers to establish standardized procedures and coordinate implementation across all locations
Collaborate with other areas (Service, Logistics, Order Management, Transportation, etc.) to create cross-functional procedures and document new procedures
Coordinate with various marketing and product support groups to ensure customer needs are met
Monitor daily reports and identify issues (Order Fulfillment Processing, Inventory Discrepancies)
Distribute and improve monthly metric reporting (e.g., cycle time, productivity, benchmarking). Prepare daily sales reports for management and warehouses to compare sales and shipping activity
Lead inventory management activities that promote accuracy and operational efficiency
Maintain, safeguard, and organize departmental files, documents, and communications

About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 3 to 5 years of related experience
Logistics experience a plus
Advanced MS Excel, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP experience is required
WMS (Warehouse Management System) and/or TMS (Transportation Management System) experience is preferred
Travel nationwide up to 20% annually

We are providing the anticipated salary range for this role: $64,350 - $81,550 annually
