Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) assess psychiatric patients, create, and coordinate treatment plans, and oversee the ongoing treatment of assigned patients in a clinical capacity. LPC’s work with other staff to keep patient needs up to date while revising treatment plans as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Firm understanding of numerous fields including any listed in the “Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders” (DSM)
- Administer psychotherapy to patients, groups, and families.
- Diagnose and treat causes as well as symptoms of mental health concerns.
- Familiarize patients and family with treatment plan for desirable transitioning.
- Observe patient interaction with staff, other patients, and family while encouraging healthy behavior.
- Communicate patient information to necessary staff and family in accordance with MPHC standards.
- Assess and revise treatment plans as patients evolve and change to fit needs of current conditions.
- Recognize dangerous situations or behavior whether to patient or surrounding persons.
- Stay knowledgeable of common medications and identify undesirable side effects.
- Responsible for patient documentation regarding intake, discharge, transfer, and any other assigned procedures.
- Coordinate with other team members to promote an effective treatment plan.
- Document all aspects of patient phycological status and new discoveries.
- Create post-discharge guide and instruction for continuing psychological benefit.
- Communicate with outside care facilities and other organizations to keep an accurate depiction of patient status.
- May supervise lower-level positions to assist in training and proper care of patients, when assigned.
- Consistent, reliable in-person attendance is required.
- Travel to multiple locations during shift.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
· Master’s Degree in counseling, behavioral health, or approved related field
· Licensed Professional Counselor (LCP) or equivalent certification in the State of Arizona
· Current CPR certification
· Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in, or related position
