Job Summary

The Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan invites applicants for a full-time Lecturer position in the Strategy Area. Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in strategy starting in Fall 2025. This faculty position is eligible for the university's world-class benefits package for faculty and staff. Compensation is extremely competitive and commensurate with candidate qualifications.

Responsibilities*

Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate strategy courses. The Strategy Area offers courses on topics such as business strategy, corporate strategy, global strategy, mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, technology and innovation strategy, healthcare strategy, and business and society.

Required Qualifications*

Candidates must have 

  1. The ability and motivation to engage in innovative teaching on an individual basis and in a team setting. 
  2. Experience in teaching strategy and a demonstrated record of excellence in this area
  3. A PhD in strategic management (or a closely related field)

Desired Qualifications*

The ideal candidate will be a versatile teacher and skilled educator who can teach a wide variety of strategy courses. The ideal candidate will also have deep expertise in strategy and can engage students in novel ways that keep them highly motivated. Executive experience in the practice of strategy is valued, but not required.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
