The Organizational Studies program is seeking an individual to offer a mini-course on career exploration for students who will graduate with an Organizational Studies degree. Students will learn about the career pathways of Organizational Studies alumni in a variety of industries and sectors, as well as develop insights that will advance their own career development and help them identify their own career goals and strategies for successfully pursuing them.


This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the University of Michigan and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.

Responsibilities*

The lecturer will teach an upper-level special topics course as a 1-credit course during Winter term 2025. 


In addition to teaching and grading responsibilities, the instructor will be required to hold office hours for students and provide appropriate syllabus and course materials electronically. 

Required Qualifications*

Graduate degree in organizational studies or a closely related field

Desired Qualifications*

The candidate must possess a degree in Organizational Studies/Behavior and have basic knowledge of organizational theory and experience in teaching/training.

The candidate must have familiarity with the Organizational Studies Program at the University of Michigan and with the needs and career pathways of its students.

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Union Affiliation

Candidates will be evaluated by the Director of the Organizational Studies Program. Selection criteria include strong interest in the subject matter and experience with serving diverse populations.
