About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager to join our Market Coverage team as part of Commercial Banking. Learn more about the career areas and business divisions at www.wellsfargojobs.com


In this role, you will:

  • Evaluate and approve credit requests and portfolio monitoring activities for middle market commercial and industrial companies and investor real estate sponsors
  • Participate in performing financial research, underwriting, and structuring of relationships within Commercial Banking Portfolio Management functional area
  • Review and research business financial statements and tax returns that require an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors
  • Resolve moderately complex issues in conjunction with functional Commercial Banking Portfolio Management team, to meet project deliverables, while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with Commercial Banking Portfolio Management peers, colleagues, and mid level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Lead projects and teams or serve as a mentor for less experienced individuals

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Loan negotiation (rates, terms, and collateral requirements) experience
  • Underwriting experience including advanced commercial or specialty group relationship portfolio credit
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of credit policy, loan servicing, risk management and group underwriting requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial and specialty group banking products and services
  • 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong analytical skills including analyzing complex data
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Previous experience using Blast, Creditview or Ncino

Pay Range:

Arizona-Chandler Pay Range $111,100-$197,500 Annually

California-Concord Pay Range $133,300-$237,100 Annually

California-Irvine Pay Range $122,200-$217,200 Annually

California-Los Angeles Pay Range $122,200-$217,200 Annually

California-Oakland Pay Range $133,300-$237,100 Annually

California-Palo Alto Pay Range $133,300-$237,100 Annually

California-Sacramento Pay Range $122,200-$217,200 Annually

California-San Francisco Pay Range $133,300-$237,100 Annually

California-San Jose Pay Range $133,300-$237,100 Annually

California-West Covina Pay Range $122,200-$217,200 Annually

Colorado-Denver Pay Range $111,100-$197,500Annually

Illinois – Chicago Pay Range: $122,200-$217,200 Annually

Washington-Bellevue Pay Range $133,300-$237,100 Annually
Washington-Seattle Pay Range $133,300-$237,100 Annually

Washington-Tacoma Pay Range $122,200-$217,200 Annually

May be considered for a discretionary bonus, Restricted Share Rights, or other long-term incentive awards.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$111,100.00 - $237,100.00
