House Intern Resource Office Coordinator
Salary Range: 62,418.00 - 81,625.00

Job Summary:
The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers, and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 650 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, child care, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.
Key responsibilities include managing the House Intern Resource Office’s administrative functions. These responsibilities include but are not limited to: managing the office’s purchases and finances, scheduling large scale events and training sessions for interns and staff, building out processes and procedures to ensure all House Intern Resource Office events and activities are successful. This role will have an emphasis on logistics and operations; especially surrounding large event coordination.
Grade level at time of appointment is determined by experience and designated level of responsibility. The position does not have day-to-day supervisory/managerial responsibilities. However, the position may be responsible for supervising/managing projects or project teams.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
· Provides assistance to walk-in customers as appropriate; greets visitors and ensures they are treated in a courteous, polite, and professional manner.
· Handles incoming calls, answers routine inquiries, and tracks, forwards, and/or takes messages as appropriate; ensures that adequate phone coverage is maintained during official business hours.
· Coordinates event logistics, including venue selection, event materials, setup, and teardown.
· Assist with organizing and maintaining the House Intern Resource Office’s event and consultation calendar, ensuring all scheduling aligns with program office availability.
· Manage attendee registration processes, including creating and maintaining registration systems, and ensuring a smooth check-in experience at House Intern Resource Office events.
· Oversee the program's purchasing and financial record keeping.
· Support the implementation of the office’s strategy and programs.
· Assist in tracking and reporting on program metrics.
· Support the coordination and logistics of training programs, professional development workshops, and other resources for interns
· Plans and coordinates miscellaneous office services, to include the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal practices and procedures necessary for program office support.
· Performs other official duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in a related field or comparable experience required.
· A minimum of one year of professional experience required.
· Experience with the Legislative Branch preferred.
· Administrative, event management, or operations experience required.
· Must be able to manage highly confidential and sensitive information appropriately; and be able to secure and maintain Federal Government security clearances as deemed appropriate by senior management.
· Ability to develop and maintain general working knowledge and understanding of the House environment and the Office of the CAO at-large.
· Knowledge of and ability to establish and maintain administrative processes and provide administrative support.
· Ability to interact with a broad range of people in a courteous and tactful manner.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, multi-tasked, time sensitive working environment.
· Must be a result and goal-oriented individual that is self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in coordination with various teams within time constraints.
· Skill in scheduling and coordination, stakeholder management, quality focus, and organizational awareness.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing as well as the ability to establish effective working relationships.
· Ability to draft and edit office communications including, newsletters, email correspondence, and training materials.
· Knowledge of and ability to use various information and automated office systems to include MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, etc.), WordPerfect, Windows, Fax, copier, and phone systems.

· This position is located in an office setting that is adequately heated, lighted, and ventilated. Normal safety precautions apply. The work involves carrying of light items such as books, papers and small office equipment. The incumbent must be able to meet minimum physical requirements (lifting, bending, crouching, standing, etc.).
