As a Grain Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in overseeing and optimizing the daily operations of our grain export facility. You will be responsible for fostering a strong safety culture, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring efficient processes. This involves close collaboration with various teams, from production supervisors to operators, to achieve key performance indicators and maintain high standards of quality. This is a dynamic role requiring a proactive and hands-on approach.
What You'll Do:
- Champion Safety:Cultivate a safety-conscious environment where all team members prioritize safe practices. Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and address potential hazards promptly.
- Drive Operational Excellence:Oversee and optimizeactivities to maximize efficiency and output. Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and develop action plans for continuous improvement.
- Ensure Quality and Compliance:Manage sanitation inspections and oversee corrective actions to maintain hygiene standards. Work closely with the safety/environmental team to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Lead and Develop Teams:Support, mentor, and develop production supervisors and their teams in operational troubleshooting and problem-solving. Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Manage Resources:Track and report facility productivity improvements and manage product yields. Monitor and control operational expenses to maintain profitability.
- Plan and Coordinate:Participate in daily production meetings and assist the Plant Manager in planning annual shutdowns. Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and smooth operations.
- Drive Continuous Improvement:Lead and implement Operations Excellence plans to achieve safety, quality, and production goals. Act as a change agent for process improvements and new technologies.
- Problem-Solve and Troubleshoot:Address operational issues and equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Administrative Tasks:Approve daily reports and KPIs, participate in the employee selection process, and address personnel issues in collaboration with HR.
Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (industrial engineering, agricultural engineering, etc.) or equivalent progressive experience (7+ years) in Ag processing,grain operations, or similar industrial operations.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate teams.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite and other specialized programs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Additional Information:
- Work Schedule: Standard, with on-call availability as needed (24/7).
Salary range $109,840-123,570. This role is also eligible to receive an annual incentive bonus.
