Summary:
This position reports to the Decision Support Manager of Finance and is responsible for the calculation, analysis, and review of clinical and non-clinical financial and statistical data to produce biweekly Productivity Tracker and Variance Reports. The Productivity Tracker and Variance reports are compiled biweekly for all hospital departments and divisions. These reports provide information on hospital performance both productive and financial. This position will also monitor and analyze budget expenditures monthly, by department and prepare trend reports. The position also participates in the preparation of budgets, month-end close, financial statement reporting, statistical reporting, and Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports, as well as, government and financial audits. Specialized assignments and projects may be given that require data mining, analysis, investigation and reporting. This position will determine how business intelligence and data systems will provide the information required to make effective operational decisions. Analyst will translate requirements into tools that enable appropriate decision support and reporting. Position will be involved in the design, development and maintenance of data requirements. Needed skills and knowledge includes process and data modeling, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and statistical analysis.

EDUCATION
o Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
EXPERIENCE
o Minimum of two years’ experience as a financial analyst, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment. This experience should include a working knowledge of budgets, statistical analysis, as well as, Medicare and Medicaid Cost Reports or schedules. Requires a working knowledge and strong skills with Microsoft Access and Excel.

OTHER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
o Must be detail-oriented with a strong sense of prioritization in relation to due dates and deadlines.
o Must be a team player with organizational and communication skills (oral and written).
o Strong analytical ability with a working knowledge of computer applications including budget software, Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word.
o Must be motivated to learn new software applications.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
o Office Environment, with some travel required for education.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
o Sitting, standing, keyboarding, and minor lifting of reports and binders.
