PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
To perform all functions necessary to fabricate stainless electrical enclosures.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform rotational assignments including forming (press brake), metal prep, welding, spot-welding, grinding, and assembly.
  • Perform set-up duties in accordance with production documentation (SOP / MOPs).
  • Position production materials and tooling, and maintain proper dimensions according to print specifications.
  • Performs duties in accordance with computerized and paper production documentation.
  • Select and move production materials as required.
  • Meets established performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Ensures that products and systems meet nVent’s quality specifications.
  • Performs paper and computerized transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
  • Maintain production equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
  • Perform transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balance through use of the computer.
  • Participate actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
  • Comply with all applicable safety procedures and report unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards to team leader or appropriate resource.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.
  • Notify team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc.
  • May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior experience working in light industrial facility preferred
  • Prior experience fabricating metal required
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Experience reading blue prints
  • Experience using measurement tools such as metric tape measure and caliper


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Able to learn, teach and interact with all functions necessary to support fabrication team, unit and company objectives.
  • Knowledge in manufacturing practices
  • Knowledge in metal fabrication
  • Ability to stand for duration of shift
  • Ability to operate a computer
  • Ability to follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE (safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, gloves) for duration of shift
  • Skilled in hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Skill to utilize the following machines and tools:
  • Various welding equipment
  • Resistance spot welders, Tig spot guns, stud welding equipment
  • Press brake, NC controller
  • Material handling equipment: pallet jack, lift tables, wheeled carts, etc.
  • Safety equipment: safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, etc.
  • Hand tools: pliers, hammer, wrenches, sockets, files, screw drivers, etc.
  • Power tools: buffers, grinders, sanders, etc.
  • Measurement tools: calipers, scales, go / no-go gauges, etc.
  • Fixtures
  • Computer, telephone

Pay Transparency

nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.

Compensation Range:

$14.80 - $27.50 Per Hour

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
