Job Summary

We are looking for candidates for the position of Director of the Engineering Advising Center (EAC) in the College of Engineering (CoE). The EAC serves students, the CoE, the University, and the larger society by contributing to the academic and personal growth of our undeclared undergraduate students. You will lead a team of diverse staff that collaborates with faculty and academic departments to facilitate and guide the students' academic path from registration through major declaration.

You will help lead the effort to enhance advising services to Michigan Engineering students. You will work collaboratively to form agreements among the College's academic departments and interest groups and to contribute to efforts to add new initiatives to the advising environment at Michigan. 

You will report to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education.

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

The EAC operates in a hybrid work environment consisting of both in-person and remote work. You will be classified as a hybrid position during the academic year which means 2-3 days of in-person work. 

Additional Information

  • May require traveling across campus to conduct work and deliver materials
  • Present information at events and in meetings
  • May require work during early mornings, nights, and weekends on occasion
  • May require domestic travel, e.g. to advising-related conferences

Background Screening
