Position Summary
The Client Relations Manager works within the Business Development - Client Relations Team to lead on key areas of revenue generation for the firm. Responsibilities include partnering with relationship lawyers to cross sell opportunities, provide prioritized short term BD support for strategically important clients, and support on regional client targeting.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages a select portfolio of clients and related client development projects under the direction of the assistant director.
- Conducts client prep meetings with lawyer team, including presenting relevant research points and working with the lawyers on messaging that emphasises our value-add.
- Attends select industry conferences and/or Reed Smith events with the goal of introducing clients, potential clients, and referrals to SMEs; and reports on quantitative and qualitative ROI.
- Produces thought leadership following events and markets it internally and externally to maximize benefit from the client interactions.
- Works with client relationship leaders (CRLs) to organize external touch points, from social receptions to CLEs, and reports on quantitative and qualitative ROI.
- Collaborates with assistant director to provide client development best practices and CRL/lawyer coaching across the firm.
- Maintains and tracks key panel information and metrics on firm's financial services clients.
- Follows up with client contacts/lawyers post pitch outcome to obtain feedback on what worked/didn't work.
- Plans and executes strategies that will expand legal services provided to, and grow revenue from targeted clients, in partnership with the client relationship leader (CRL) and global client teams
- Provides select partners with short term, 'super charged' and prioritized BD in areas such as on boarding panel wins, new lateral partners and their previous relationships or strategic pursuits with clients that are time intensive.
- Supports efforts to identify and target clients important to regional initiatives.
- Acts as a trusted adviser to partners and collaborates with teams across the firm to properly leverage skillsets and drive efficiencies.
- Develops external and internal client relationship reports, leveraging key internal functions from graphics to pricing team.
- Provides periodic updates on client development efforts to the marketing department.
- Meets with secondees before, during, and after secondments to ensure that they are keeping in touch with the firm and providing regular feedback during their secondments.
- Works with assistant director and/or director to manage firmwide budget on client related activities.
- Works with assistant director to ensure client activities, RFP/pitch information, internal work requests, and other team requests are entered/updated in CRM system.
- Creates and maintains a respectful, inclusive and supportive team environment across functional and geographic boundaries.

Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree require
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a business development, marketing-related position, or position focused on growing business
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience managing people and/or teams

Working Conditions: You will be required to work in the office at minimum 3 days per week. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule. The details of your weekly schedule will be discussed further with your direct supervisor.
Pay Ranges: This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of Reed Smith's pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
- Pittsburgh/Houston/Miami/Dallas: $135,100 - $150,600
- Philadelphia/Chicago: $144,557 - $161,142
- Princeton/D.C. - $154,014 - $171,684
- New York: $159,418 - $177,708
