RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You will report to the Operations Manager. You will develop a culture based on open / honest dialogue and involvement of all team members that shows the value of their input / engagement in improving performance.
- You will provide direct oversight for the 3rd Shift operation, overseeing production supervisors and the Sanitation process. Sanitation will comprise 70% of your nightly work.
- You will inspect materials, equipment, and plant for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
- You will confer with management and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommend improvements in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards.
- You will compile required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to correct deficiencies.
- You will support employee engagement and development to maximize safety, quality, and productivity.
- You will provide leadership for assessing and enhancing plant capabilities.
- You will manage the Sanitation budget including capital expenditures and cost management.
- You will assure regulatory compliance including OSHA, EPA, USDA, FDA, FLSA, EEO, OFCCP and NLRB.
- You will be responsible for Plant Food Safety & Quality. Ensure all quality standards, specifications and policies are met, improve continuous improvement process / manufacturing improvements and collaborate with Research and Development in product implementation.
- You will provide leadership for diversity and positive community involvement / relations.
- You will foster a culture of accountability in employee and product quality & safety and other aspects of the business.
- You will collaborate with Human Resources and other functional leaders to create employee relations processes and develop team leaders to do the same to maintain a positive working environment.
Requirements
- 5+ Years manufacturing experience including Sanitation required.
- Minimum 3 years in a production supervision or production management role in a plant required.
- Union experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (i.e. Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Food Science, Management, Operations, and Biology).
- Manufacturing experience, chemical or related USDA/FDA industry.
- Demonstrated leadership experience required.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) capability a plus.
- Business, analytical and financial skills required.
