2025 Summer Internship Program

Location:

This role is scheduled to be 100% remote. While remote, finalists MUST reside in one of the following states to be eligible for employment with Kaiser Permanente: CA, OR, WA, HI, CO, GA, MD, VA, CT, DC, or IL.

Department Description:

Supply Chain Services (SCS) is a key part of the broader Enterprise Business Services group, which provides services across the entire Kaiser Permanente footprint. SCS drives strategic, innovative, source, order, deliver and pay services. The Decision Support, Analytics, and Reporting group is the department within SCS that designs, builds, and helps implement tools to make timely decisions.

Intern Project(s):

Intern projects might include investigating a data problem, forming a solution, and demonstrating the solution via a report built by the intern in Power BI.

Computer Science; Data Science; Business Administration

Target Skills:

This position requires someone who can transform and synthesize vast amounts of structured and unstructured information using PS SQL, Python, Excel, Machine Learning (ML) models and other tools. The information will then need to be packaged for consumption by an end-user. To be successful with the latter, skills in optimal data structuring, performing calculations, and building visualizations, using Tableau and/or Power BI will be essential.

• Aptitude to perform data and process analytics and formulating solutions.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
