What You’ll Do:

As a Behavioral Health Therapist, you will provide on-going assessments, intervention techniques, conduct de-escalation, safety planning, and maintain clinical records and other reporting data for clients with mild to severe mental health and/or substance use disorders. Duties include coordinating with internal as well as external supportive services to deliver needed services to our clients and collaborate with peers and psychiatrists regarding treatment. Responsible for on-site direct client care, which includes both individual and (possible group therapy), behavioral health screening & assessments, brief therapeutic intervention, crisis intervention, care coordination, caseload management, attending to needs of staff and providers within the building, problem solving between treatment team members, and/or helping clients who are in need of assistance

Essential Duties:

  • Direct client care to include care coordination, behavioral health related screenings and assessments, individual and group therapy, brief therapy, case management, and related clinical services.
  • Serves as a clinical resource person to building site(s), clinical staff, case managers, medical providers and collaterals.
  • Knowledge of professional policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with other staff in providing, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical services, including collaborating with Clinical Managers and Program Supervisors.
  • Performs behavioral health screenings and assessments within the medical clinic setting, to include review of treatment options and referral information.
  • Provides on going care coordination within SummitStone, community agencies and resources. 
  • Provides crisis intervention to include crisis assessment and de-escalation.
  • Provides on site collaboration with medical providers to provide behavioral health assessments for those clients identified with behavioral health needs.  
  • Clinical documentation.
  • Supports and fosters team values with peers and clinic staff, to provide support and remove barriers.
  • Maintains superior customer service for internal and external customers by providing information and answering questions/requests in timely matter.
  • May participate on committees (both internal and external), in meetings, and works on projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required: 

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field and/or license in Human Services field from accredited College or University. LCSW, LPC, LMFT, CAS, LAC track
  • At least one year of experience in the behavioral health field
  • At least one year of experience with mild to severe mental illness and substance use disorders 

Preferred: 

  • Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred. 

Some positions include driving a company vehicle and require a valid Colorado driver’s license.

Our Behavioral Health Therapists have access to exceptional training opportunities in evidence-based practices and support in gaining and keeping licensure and addictions certification: 

  • Receive supervision toward clinical licensure (i.e. LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LAC) and/or certification (i.e. CAS) at no cost to the employee.
  • Receive reimbursement for obtaining clinical licensure (i.e. LCSW, LPC, LMFT) and/or certification (i.e. CAS) in addition to base pay increase
  • Have the opportunity to participate in specialized clinical certifications (i.e. EMDR, etc.)


Total Rewards


The hiring range:

  • Masters Level Unlicensed: $58,011 - $69,618 annually
  • Masters Level Licensed: $66,040 - $79,217 annually
  • based on relevant years of experience.
