The Driskill
Built in 1886 as a showpiece for Cattle Baron, Jesse Driskill, the Driskill is a legend in Texas hospitality. The hotel is known throughout Austin for its elite level of service and luxurious accommodations. The Driskill Bar & Grill is known for incredible service and refined Texas cuisine, while 1886 Cafe is a quaint, Victorian-style cafe that serves time-honored original recipes and traditional Texas comfort foods. We are in search of a polished and professional Food and Beverage leader to join our team.
The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager will assist in food and beverage areas within the hotel including F&B outlets and events. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager must have strong communication and analytical skills. Food and Beverage cost control experience is helpful. This highly visible role also gives opportunity for casual conversation and has a direct impact on the guest experience.
Responsibilities may include:
· Scheduling staff and managing day to day Food and Beverage operations
· Handling guest complaints and feedback in a professional and courteous manner
· Ensure effective training, development, promotion and continuous support of colleagues
· Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results
· Assist with developing and implementing creative strategies for revenue enhancement and cost containment
· Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws as well as all operating procedures
· Work with Beverage Manager and the Events team to coordinate special events in the Food & Beverage Outlets.

Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of experience in food and beverage management in a hotel or similar environment
- A bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Wine/beverage knowledge in an upscale environment preferred
- Service oriented style with professional presentation skills
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, administrative skills
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
