The Art & Nature Center (ANC) showcases original exhibitions that investigate our interconnections with nature through contemporary art, memorable objects, and interactive experiences. Designed for visitors of all ages, the family-friendly center features changing exhibitions, hands-on displays, and art-making spaces.
The ANC is looking for an intern who will work with education staff in the implementation and facilitation of a variety of interactive programs. The ANC encompasses regular drop-in art making activities, exhibition facilitation and maintenance, and opportunities for independent projects. Independent projects can include supporting exhibition evaluation, generating public programming ideas, and exploring future ANC exhibition topics. ANC interns will also assist in a variety of administrative tasks. Ideal for students interested in museum education and community arts engagement.
Qualifications: Enrolled undergraduate or graduate student; excellent written/oral communication skills, detail oriented. A passion for working with children and families. Able to commit to 2+ days per week, flexible within Thursday-Monday, 9am-5pm parameters. Those with weekend availability will be given priority.
The spring internship program runs from 1/23/25 until approximately 4/24/25 or an agreed upon end date with the hiring manager. Please note, there is a required in person orientation that takes place on Thursday, 1/23/25 10-4 pm. This internship provides a stipend of $1500.00 and will require a minimum of 15 hours each week, on site.
