Job Summary

The Department of Technology Services in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) at the University of Michigan seeks an Application Systems Analyst Associate to join our Web & Applications Development Services (W&ADS) team. The College of LSA consists of nearly 100 departments, centers, and programs. The (W&ADS) team provides administrative information services, including web infrastructure support to the College.

The focus for this position will be to assist in supporting several of the College's enterprise web applications. Your work will have a significant impact on hundreds of websites, several internal
processes, and workflows and provide valuable contributions to the enterprise software our team supports.

You will report to the Manager of Web & Applications Development Services in the Technology Services department. The salary range for the position is $58,000-$72,500. The salary for the
position is based on the experience of the selected candidate.

ABOUT THE JOB:

Application Support: You will work with our team and customers to maintain, modify, and sometimes configure existing web applications that are used for our TeamDynamix help desk ticketing software. In addition, you will also help support our Search Engine Optimization (SEO) analytics using BrightEdge software, Room Scheduling software, and our Web Content Management System based in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). No prior knowledge of this software or any coding is necessary though you will learn the software with the help of our team.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting our TeamDynamix Lead with administrative tasks in our help desk software. This includes creating new and updating existing customer support forms, automation of ticketing tasks, integrations with other applications, and assisting with service catalog management
  • Assisting our SEO Lead with optimizing web pages for higher search placement using BrightEdge software
  • Help generate BrightEdge data for use in web evaluation reports which lead to performance improvement recommendations our users can make to improve their sites
  • Assist with testing software upgrades and enhancements we make to the applications listed above as well as other applications as needed
  • Help gather room and space information to enter and manage in our room scheduling software. Handle other general room scheduling software support as needed.

Required Qualifications*

  • A bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent job experience
  • 2 years of experience developing and/or maintaining web-based applications in any environment
  • Customer service experience in any environment
  • Proven communication skills with colleagues and customers/clients on projects
  • Experience working with users and customers to develop application specifications to meet their needs
  • Some familiarity with or knowledge of Google Workspace (formerly G-Suite), in particular Google Docs and Google Sheets
  • Willingness to learn new software packages through training and support from our team

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience with enterprise web applications.
  • Experience administering software, such as granting permissions, configuration tasks, identifying process improvements, and/or other general maintenance.
  • Basic HTML and basic CSS
