Position Overview
The Quality Control Analyst is responsible for providing analysis, performing investigations, and developing action plans to aid the Distribution Operations team in providing accurate shipments worldwide and tighter process controls on areas within the Distribution Center using Quality Control measures. The Analyst will develop and maintain KPI's to be communicated to multiple levels of management in various divisions. They will also provide continuous improvement opportunities based on their KPI’s, observations, and root cause analysis. The Analyst will help achieve and maintain our 99.99% accuracy levels to both international and domestic replenishment markets through the Near Miss, Outbound Auditing, and Discrepancy reporting processes. Additionally, they are responsible for workforce planning to ensure we have the appropriate number of employees on staff. This includes time studies and capturing and verifying data on performance. This role is the reporting arm of distribution.
Key Accountabilities
Analysis & Investigation:
- Create, update and analyze KPI's for the Near Miss and Discrepancy process
- Monitor operational compliance practices and performs risk assessments
- Analyze existing processes, identify gaps and recommend new or revised policies and procedures
- Evaluate the outbound audit sampling plan by country and adjust as necessary
- Investigate receiving issues reported by Domestic and International branches and perform root cause analysis.
- Analyze staffing
Auditing:
- Perform audits on outbound shipments to ensure 99.99% accuracy related to quantity, and international compliance measures based on individual country import rules
- Perform audits internally in the DC between operations to ensure accuracy for correct product and quantity
- Reduce errors shipped out of the Retail Service Center to limit international customs delays and financial implications due to improper importation
- Performing time Studies and SOP audits.
Continuous Improvement:
- Work closely with Distribution and Global Sales Operations to recommend best practices, process changes, and continuous improvement initiatives based on data analysis, observations, and investigated trends
- Partner with external departments to test system enhancements and support all aspects of implementation and subsequent training
Reporting:
- Report on trends in the Near Miss & Discrepancy process through varying data metrics
- Create new reports dependent on what root cause analysis has determined
- Report on staffing performance
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in a Distribution or Warehouse environment
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Quality Control
- Strong Communication Skills both written and verbal
- Excellent PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft applications including Excel
- Ability to interact with management and staff level positions
- Ability to have a flexible work schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems and Labor Management Systems, preferably Manhattan WMOS
- Project management experience
- Experience with databases, VBA, Access, SQL
The hiring range for this position ranges from $81,515 - $110,285. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience.
